Latest Nashville School Shooting: Officials say three children and three staff members were shot dead at a private school in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Monday morning shooting occurred at Covenant School, a Christian school for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Officials said none of those shot survived.

The suspect, a 28-year-old Nashville woman, was fatally shot by authorities in the school’s second-floor lobby, police say.

Nashville Police Chief John Drake said he was “really moved to tears” seeing the young students as they were “led out of the building”.

Officials said the suspect was carrying at least two assault rifles and a pistol.

The suspect died at 10:27 a.m., police said.

Drake said the suspect appears to be a former student.

The president again urged Congress to pass an assault weapons ban, saying, “It’s time we started making more progress.”

First Lady Jill Biden said Monday, “I am truly speechless. Our children deserve better.

“Please join us in praying for the school, the congregation and the community of Nashville,” Lee said.
